Mailroom Package Tracking and Delivery System

Every day, in large corporations across the country hundreds of cartons and envelopes are delivered to the mailroom. In almost every case, because workers throughout the building or campus are waiting for those parcels, mailroom personnel must record the tracking number of each piece and the name and in many cases the location of each recipient. What a mind numbing and error prone job!

Parcel Pilot, developed by DCP for a large chemical engineering firm, makes the tracking, reporting and delivery of hundreds of parcels easy and fast. Using small hand held laser scanner equipped data terminals; workers scan the tracking number directly from the package and associate it with the recipient. An email immediately is sent to the recipient informing him or her of the packages arrival and allowing the choice of pick-up or delivery. Parcel Pilot arranges the parcels in the proper order for delivery and then supplies proof of delivery with a scan of the recipient’s location code. After all deliveries have been made, Parcel Pilot send emails to all recipients and provides comprehensive reporting to management.
